Tenochtitlan's legend

In Aztlán the futures mexicas were slaves of the Aztecs and wanted to have a land in which to live happy and they were saying the gods to be able to find the place where they might form his own people.
Sungod I listen to his petitions and it demonstrated his village that they had to go towards new lands, also it ordered them that they should stop being called Aztecs because from this moment they would be all Mexicans.
Sungod ordered them only to found his kingdom where an eagle stopped on a prickly pear was " devouring a serpent ".
Following this plan, the mexicas strolled for several places, always in search of the wonder that was indicating which was the land promised by his god.
They came then to the valley of Mexico and happened for several peoples, until they settled themselves in territory of Azcapotzalco's tepanecas, whom they served as mercenary warriors. Finally, they found the site distinguished by Sungod in an island of Texcoco's lake.
